    Professor Fausto J Pinto is Chairperson of the Congress Programme Committee， Past-President of the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE)， Professor of Cardiology at Lisbon University Medical School and has been the Director of the Lisbon Cardiovascular Institute since 1999. He is the author or co-author of over 100 papers and over 400 presentations， original or invited， at main scientific events. He is a member of several scientific societies， national and international， where he has been appointed to several positions. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC)， American Society of Angiology (ASA)， Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Professor Pinto gained a PhD in Medicine and Cardiology from Lisbon University in 1993 and 1997， respectively.
